Sasuke fell to the Earth, injured and exhausted. His brother lay beside him, motionless, already taken by death. They say you see moments of your life in a flash as you die.
"Sasuke-kun." He heard his mother cry sweetly. Sasuke looked up from his desk. Pictures of foxes and rabbit littered the paper in front of him. He dropped his coloring pencil and practically ran to his kaa-san. She was washing the dishes, her cream colored apron slightly damp. Sasuke's eyes widened at the sight of the red tomatoes. His mouth watered.
There was only one of the innocent vegetable-fruit left. Sasuke darted forward and his pale fingers barely touched the red skin before another hand came from above and took it from him.
"Onii-San! Give it back!" Sasuke cried dramatically. He jumped up for it, nowhere near reaching.
Itachi looked at him playfully. "I don't know Sasuke, I really want this tomato." He held it up to his nose, sniffing.
"Kaa-san, tell him to give it back!" Sasuke whined, his little face scrunching up.
Tears began to fall from Sasuke's onyx eyes.
"Naruto I-" Sasuke began to form in his mouth as the blonde haired ninja stared back at him. The knuckle-headed ninja scratched the back of his head, confused. Sasuke found himself moving forward, Naruto jerked in surprise at the black haired boy jumping on him.
Sasuke stared back at him, eyes filled with happiness. Naruto let out a bright smile. "Bastard." He reached up and planted a kiss on Sasuke's lips. Sasuke was surprised at the tingle Naruto's lips left behind.
Sasuke felt his eyes widened at the scene. His heart filled with despair. "Na-ru-to." He breathed out raspy. Blood dripped from the side of his mouth. He could hardly breathe. He realized that while other people saw their life flashing before their eyes, he saw what could have been.
