Emma's Eulogy

This is Emma's eulogy at Manny's funeral. She tells everything that had happened and how it had corrupted to her death.

Emma: Hi, my name is Emma. I was Manny's best friend. Even though she did bad things that jeopardized our friendship I still stayed friends with her. I remember when I had first met her. It was back when we were three years old. A little boy had taken my cookie and she gave me hers to stop me from crying. But this pass week I haven't cried a tear. I was pissed off at how she had pushed me away after being friends with her for so long. (Sighs) I'm just going to tell you what happened so we can finish this once and for all.

Flashback

Emma is waking up, as Manny is comes in from Emma's window after her parents had put her out, again.

Manny: (crying) Em, can I stay with you for a while?

Emma: (getting up from her bed) what happened?

Manny: My mom and dad had put me out after I had punched my mom in the face.

Emma: Oh my god! (Hugs Manny) Stay here as long as you need. I'm sure that Snake and mom won't mind.

Manny sleeps in Emma's bed. The next morning they go to school, and they talk by the lockers.

Emma: I can't believe that your parents put you out. Do you want to tell me all of what happened?

Manny: I don't want to talk about it.

Emma: You don't have to tell me then.

A boy walks by Manny, and says:

Boy: Nice dance on the pole last night, hot stuff!

Emma: What was that all about?

Manny: I don't know him! I don't know what he's talking about!

Emma and Manny get through school, and they meet outside on the stairs in front of the school.

Manny: Emma, I'm not coming straight home. I must run a few errands.

Manny runs for the bus and catches it just in time.

It's 12:30 am, and Manny didn't get to Emma's house just yet. Emma is scared and worried. Manny comes in drunk, and Emma says:

Emma: Where have you been?

Manny: Don't talk to me like that you're not my mom!

Emma: Manny, have you been drinking?

Manny: I can do what ever I want to! It's my life! If you don't like it go to hell!

Emma: Manny, get out! This is my house and you're not going to talk to me like that!

Manny: Fine! I don't need you! I'm going back to my job! Stripping is a lot more fun than listening to this shit!

Emma: Everybody is right about you! You're a nasty dick-sucking whore! Get the fuck out!

Manny leaves, and Emma goes to sleep.

It is 4:30 am and Emma's house gets a phone call. It's Mrs. Santos.

Emma: Hello?

Mrs. Santos: (crying) Hi Emma.

Emma: Oh my god! Mrs. Santos, what's wrong?

Mrs. Santos: The morgue had called and told me that they found Manny! My baby! My precious baby!

Emma: Oh my god! What happened?

Mrs. Santos: She was raped and killed! (Crying)

Emma: Oh my god Mrs. Santos, I'm so sorry! She came to my house drunk and crazy! I never meant for this to happen! (Hangs up, tries to go back to sleep, but couldn't)

Back To Reality

Emma (speaking at the funeral): So that's what happened. She was drunk and I told her to leave. I have so much guilt on my chest. I feel like I'm the one who had raped and killed Manny! (Breaks down and cries) I'm so sorry! I just don't know what to do!

Emma walks off of the stage, the minister closes it out, and everyone says his or her last goodbyes to Manuela Santos.

Where did Manny go wrong? No one knows.
