Chapter 1
Six years. It's been six years since Sebastian left. The manor has never been quite the same. In fact, everything is in shambles. The grounds that once were tended to almost hourly were now scorched and dead. The stately interior of the Phantomhive Manor was now messy and cluttered. The Earl Phantomhive wasn't quite the same either. He had never been the same since Sebastian took his leave.
-Flashback-
"My Lord." Sebastian addressed, his scarlet eyes holding no emotion as he spoke. "I'm afraid I must let Tanaka take it from here."
"Whatever do you mean? You can't leave. I forbid it!" Ciel responded in an outraged tone. What did this damn demon think he was doing?!
"I'm afraid I do not have a choice, My Lord. I must leave for a while. This is goodbye, young master." The ravenette butler said with a small bow as he turned away from his young Lord and walking away.
"Sebastian! SEBASTIAN ! THIS IS AN ORDER, GET BACK HERE! SEBASTIAN!" The bluenette screamed, trying hard not to shed a tear.
And with that, Sebastian turned his back on everything he had ever known.
-End of Flashback-
Now, Six years later, Sebastian had returned to his beloved master only to find the manor in deplorable shape. He shook his head with wide red eyes. "Oh, Master, what have you done?" he muttered in his velvety voice as he raced toward the manor with superhuman speed.
Upon entrance into the disheveled manor house, the ravenette butler began racing through the halls, calling for his master. "Young Master?" he called, softly at first. When he received no response, Sebastian called louder.
Still, no response. The demon was starting to get a bit…concerned about his child master. His beloved Ciel. He continued running through the halls, the other servants nowhere to be found. He passed his master's study only to be greeted by a most terrible sight.
His master was lying motionlessly on his desk, face down. In one fluid motion, Sebastian raced to Ciel's side. "My Lord? My Lord, it's me. Sebastian." he whispered quietly.
The blue haired Earl made no motion to indicate he had heard his butler. He started straight ahead with dull, lifeless eyes and was barely breathing.
The demon shook the boy's shoulders. "Master! Master, please! Do say something!" he pleaded. He never begged. This wasn't like the Ciel He knew so well. This thing was a mere shell of his master.
"S-Sebastian?" A voice groaned and coughed. "You've returned?" the boy's voice croaked.
"Young Master! Thank goodness, you're alive." The demon breathed a sigh of relief before smiling.
"Why did you leave me? Where the bloody hell have you been for the past six years?" Ciel questioned, only to be hushed by the crimson eyed butler.
"That is nothing the master should be concerned with. What happened here?" Sebastian inquired, gently caressing Ciel's face.
"Everything went straight to Hell after you left. The other servants left me to pursue other hobbies. You left when we needed you most. When I needed you most." The blue eyed boy croaked.
"I promise, Master, never shall I leave your side."
Never again will his butler be Forlorn.
