Disclaimer: I don't own these two. How depressing. They're both so awesome.

He never told anyone, but he kept some of Rem's remains after she died. Really, it was rather morbid. And after all, love was forbidden amongst Shinigami. But she was so smart, and he so stupid, it was the only way he could have ever had her.

So he crunched an apple, tucked the sand away in his jacket and tried to forget. But sometimes, even apples weren't enough. Nothing would wash away the memory of the pale, old-fashioned, caring female he had ended up loving.

At times like that, Ryuuk wished to waste away. But then, nothingness sounded awfully boring.

Well. I'm kind of proud, this is my first RyuuRem fic, and my first drabble. I've been on a really melancholy Death Note kick lately, eh?
As I said, first drabble, so I'm sure it's pretty rough. I kind of like it, dunno. I got this idea watching episode twenty-five I got this idea, from the prompt, "He never told anything, but he kept some of her sand after she died." I told me sister, and she went, 'AWWWWW!' so I wrote it.
Neh. A review would be nice, but if you offer any criticism, I might not take it. It's tricky to write exactly 100 words.
