Sirius, James, and Remus laughed delightedly and spun circles as the rain pounded on them. James' glasses were fogged and spotted with water and Sirius' shoulder length hair was messy and plastered to his head. Remus thought that he probably didn't look much better, his own hair and robes soaked. The rain was not the warm downpours of summer, but the freezing, driving rain not very common to what should have been winter. This was likely one of the last storms they would get before the weather turned too cold to support it.

Remus smiled and ran to Sirius, "Shall we dance?"

Sirius grinned, "We shall!"

The two began to waltz to the best of their ability, which was truly no more than a box step to their embarrassment. James stood nearby, watching the two and shaking his head. Finally, as the rain began to slow, Sirius broke away from Remus, running to the cover of the castle. Remus laughed and followed, beckoning to James who smiled and shook his head, tilting his face to meet the rain.

Sirius grinned at Remus, shaking his head to dislodge some of the water, "That was brilliant."

"It was," Remus agreed, squeezing small rivers from his own hair.

"You know," Sirius mused, mischief creeping into his voice, as he glanced at James, "If I didn't have a girlfriend, I'd so make out with him. Just because it's raining."

Remus snorted, "Do it!"

"He'd die on the spot! Or hit me, really either one is a possibility," Sirius broke off and shrugged before jogging back over to James.

James' shocked face and Sirius' evil grin were enough for Remus to guess what they were talking about. What he didn't expect was the look of longing James was trying to conceal.

'Well, that's interesting.'

The werewolf walked back towards the two, smiling as Sirius stuck his tongue out at him. The three friends chatted amiably for a few minutes, trying to ignore the chills seeping into them through their wet clothes. James periodically stopped and stared up at the sky as if willing it to rain again. In truth, Remus would quite enjoy another downpour himself. As he finished the thought, rain began to fall again, as if by some magic. This of course, was entirely possible, he mused.

"Is this make-out rain?" James asked, glancing shyly at Sirius.

Sirius pondered this for a moment before lifting his hand and crooking a finger towards James in a clearly 'come hither' fashion. James stepped forward. Remus giggled like a first year at the sight before him, clapping happily. His two best friends stood in the pouring rain, lips moving against each other. Sirius' hands were buried in James' hair and James had his hands resting on Sirius' hips. It was, in all truth, one of the cutest things he'd ever seen. The boys broke apart, pink staining their cheeks, and smiled at each other.

Remus smiled and thought to himself, rain is a dangerous thing indeed.
