Ok. So new story. This is a little bit different than my other stories. A huge thank you to Sara (winterschild11) for not only giving me the idea for this but helping me with the research for it as well.
Kendall smiled as he walked down the stairs to join his family for breakfast. He know why but for some reason today he felt extremely happy and content with the world. He had everything he could ever ask for and want. And that was saying a lot since he was only seven years old.
He loved his life. His two daddies, Carlos and Logan, and his fourteen year old brother, James. A year ago he would have never imagined that his life would turn out to be this amazing. He still remembered the day that his Daddy and his Papi had brought him home from that awful place called an orphanage. He didn't like it there at all.
Sure, the kids that he shared his home with were nice and all but the lady that ran the orphanage was not. For some unknown reason she hated Kendall. Even though he had never done anything to her or to upset her. He was one of the sweetest little boys you could ever ask for. He was very selfless, even for a seven year old, and would never hurt a fly.
Even when others, including his big brother James, pushed him around and said that he was no good. His and James' up brings had been very different. James had been conceive and carried by a surrogate and had been with Logan and Carlos from day one whereas Kendall had not.
And for that reason, most of the time James pretty much alienated his little brother. It didn't help that Carlos and Logan most of the time paid more attention to Kendall because he was younger.
Kendall smiled as he entered the kitchen upon seeing both his parents. James was nowhere insight but that was no surprise considering that it was Saturday. Kendall just figured that he must be sleeping.
"Good morning, baby." Carlos said as his youngest son entered the kitchen. He walked over to Kendall and gave him a kiss on the head before ruffling his dirty blond hair.
"Good morning, Papi!" Kendall said with a big smile.
"How did you sleep?" Carlos asked as he sat down beside his son.
"Good." Kendall replied with a smile.
"Where is James?" His Daddy asked.
"He's still asleep, I think." Kendall said before he got up to give Logan a hug. Logan worked as a doctor Minneapolis and it wasn't very often that he had a Saturday off to spend with his family.
"I'll go check on him." Logan replied, returning the hug before heading up the stairs to check on James. Logan was James' biological father but it really didn't matter to anyone. They were all a family nonetheless.
Kendall loved James, even though James treated him badly and pretended that he didn't exist most of the time. He had never had a big brother before and even though they didn't do much together Kendall still loved James like a little brother should.
Logan came downstairs a few minutes later, thermometer in hand.
"What's wrong, babe?" Carlos asked his husband before going over to him.
"James is sick." He replied. "I think it might just be a 24 hour thing. Kendall, baby, I want you to stay down here today. We don't want you getting sick as well."
"Okay, Daddy!" Logan smiled as he petted his son's hair.
"Good boy." He said smiling.
Kendall frowned though as he went to the living room to go watch tv. He had a bad feeling about this.
Love it? Hate it? Thoughts?
