Heyyo peoples of FFN! This is a RWBY Alternate Universe story... set in modern-ish type setting. Highschool AU / Supernatural AU.
Ren, as usual, was seated at his desk exactly five minutes before the bell rang. As the classroom slowly filled with students, Ren let out a small sigh. Nora was nowhere to be seen... the hyper girl had been skipping the first class for two weeks now and it was beginning to grate on the boy's nerves. As he was about to slip back out of the classroom, the teacher strolled in. "Alright kids." The relativly tall, dark haired man grunted "Let's get straight to the point. Anyone who doesn't have their assignment from last week ready to turn in is flunking my class."
His announcement was instantly met with cries of slackers. Hurried voices cried out "But Mr. Branwen, sir! I didn't get to 'cause I was super-duper busy!" ; "Mister Qrow! I forgot to bring it!" ; and "That's not fair!" All fell on deaf ears, however. Then the door imploded. Shocked into silence, one could've heard a pin drop in the room. All the students were holding their breath and staring at the powdered remnants of the door. Qrow coughed in irritation. "Lovely entrance, now take your seat." Most gasped in shock when Nora poked her head through the open doorway and grinned as she bounded to her seat right by Ren. As she sat, Ren gave her a sideways glance, silently asking her where she'd been. Nora simply shook her head, signaling that they could talk later.
Later, at lunch, Nora and Ren sat on a bench under a thick oak tree. Nora was humming and swinging her legs as she ate while Ren ate quickly and quietly.
