The Power of Love:Pete/Kitty

(Note:Story takes place after a mission that hits to close to Kitty's heart)
Kitty slipped into the room,hoping Pete was asleep.The only thing on her mind was what
she had seen that day and it still had a effect on her.She gazed out a window as tried to
hide her tears,but Pete heard the muffled sobs and got out of bed and moved over to
Kitty."Need to talk Love" Pete whispered in Kitty's ear.Kitty tried to tell Pete what she
was feeling but the tears started to trickle down her cheek.Pete slipped his arm around
Kitty and tried to sooth her tears away but he knew that she needed to cry her heart
out.Pete could only whisper in Kitty's ear,"I'm here love" as her tears fell like rain.Over
the next hour,Pete tried to keep his heart from breaking as Kitty cried on his
shoulder.Ever so often he could only whisper gentle yet tender I love you's into Kitty's
ear to let her know that he understood her feelings and to reassure her of his love.When
they finally went to bed,Kitty let herself sink into the warmth of Pete's arms as he help her
close to his heart.Pete gently whiped a tear off Kitty's cheek and whispered in her
ear,"what happened love?". Kitty told Pete,"It just hurt too much to see that kind of hurt
against people".After a few minutes Pete whispered in Kitty's ear,"You do have one thing
to hold on to,the fact that I love you"."I know Pete,and that helps" ,Kitty whispered back
as the tears became quiet sobs.Pete tenderlywhiped away the tears as Kitty cried on his
shoulder.As Kitty started to fall asleep,Pete tenderly kissed her on the cheek and
whispered in her ear the one thing that could ease her pain,"I love you".Kitty whispered
back to Pete,"I love you just as much Pete".That was when Pete knew that love was
the best thing for Kitty after this mission.Deep in Kitty's heart,she knew that Pete loved
her and after a day like today it helps to know that.
