She had barely enough strength to wash the blood off of her hands, let alone walk the street to her apartment. But she did it because she knew she had a bed and a pillow that wasn't cheap and communal like the one she would've had to use if she stayed at the hospital. She made it up the stairs and glanced quickly at Mark's door to see if he was home or not, mostly out of habit, but he was her best friend, so it was out of care too. She tried the door knob first, praying it was unlocked so she could skip the step of searching her purse for her keys. Unfortunately, it was locked, which meant no one was home, or everyone was sleeping. The orthopedic surgeon contemplated knocking and disturbing who was in there, but wasn't really that desperate. Rather, she had clasped her keys in her hands and began to unlock the blue door that was one of the first barriers between her and her bed.

Only the lights in the small kitchen area were lit, and very dimly at that. Her mouth was dry and in need of liquids, but her need for sleep was surpassing her thirst by a huge degree, so she skipped the drink. She decided to leave the lights lit, just incase Christina wasn't back yet. It was good karma and all that, she decided. She walked sluggishly to her bedroom door and entered the dark room. Too tired to pay any attention to her surroundings, or care what she looked like, she stripped down to her under garments and crawled into bed, grabbing the blanket and forming a cocoon around her so she would be warm and toasty. She was drifting to sleep moments later until she was startled by a voice that wasn't her own. Due to the cocoon she had engulfed herself in, she had rolled right onto the floor. She was face up, staring back at the confused face of the perpetrator. "Calliope, did I scare you?"

Before Callie answered Arizona, she unraveled herself (much to her displeasure) and threw the blanket back onto her bed, went to her dresser and put on a camisole and some plaid sleeping shorts. "Yes." She said as she threw her hair into a ponytail. "You scared the sleep out of me." She flicked the light on. She plopped on to the bed, making the opposite side rise a little and then fall again. "Your hair looks fantastic." She said smiling at her girlfriend. She tucked a rouge hair behind the blonde's ear and let her hand run down to Arizona's upper arm. "The sleep is coming back." She used her free hand to rub that sandy feeling from her eye.

She looked back to Arizona who had a small smile on her face as she took in Callie's almost childlike sleepy characteristics. "You're awful cute when you're tired." She crawled over to Callie and kissed her; which was a little awkward because they were both smiling. She prolonged the kiss until she had gotten Callie into a horizontal position, and a few moments later she stopped and retreated back to her side of the bed. Callie, too tired to talk, grabbed Arizona's hand as a gesture to signify she didn't want her to stop. "Oh no Calliope, I've never had someone fall asleep on me yet, and I'm not about to let you be my first." Callie let out a small laugh and then Arizona heard that her breathing was steady; she was asleep. Arizona turned off the light and crawled back into bed, and drifted off to sleep considerably more happy than she had the first go around.
