The Limit

Silo landed on his hands and knees in the river. He stayed in a crouched position for a moment before standing up and looking around at the strange surroundings. The water in which he was standing was as clear as crystal and the river's shores were composed of what looked like bleached white sand. Beyond the shores was nothing but a desert of ghostly white stone. Running along the shores of white were thirty foot tall pillars that looked like giant teeth against the black sky. This place was eerily beautiful in spite of being so evil.

Silo turned in the direction the river was flowing and was shocked to see a yellow-armored figure standing at the edge of a waterfall and glaring out into the darkness. It was Indalo.

"Indalo!" Silo yelled and started to sprint towards his friend. Something was very wrong here. Silo could feel it. "Indalo?"

Silo stood beside his friend and looked into his face. It was expressionless. He was just staring down into the blackness that the waterfall fell into. Suddenly, Indalo jumped backwards with a yelp.

"Y-you made it here" Indalo stuttered. "K-kill me. N-now."

"What?" Silo replied in shock. "You expect me to do something like…"

Suddenly, Indalo's face contorted into a look of extreme pain. Then his palms slammed into the sides of his head and he kneeled down into the water. He seemed to be fighting something and losing.

"STOP IT!" Indalo screamed. His eyes closed and then he tried to stand up again with his palms seemingly glued to the sides of his head. "S-Silo! RUN! Get away from here! I can't hold him off much longer!"

"W-wait!" Silo yelled. "Hold who off?"

"Slaagra!" Indalo stammered and then fell to his knees again. Silo shuddered at the name his friend had just said. Slaagra was the one controlling Indalo. He was the cause of Indalo's insanity. He was the cause of everything that had happened.

Silo watched with tears in his eyes as Indalo stood up shakily. His hands dropped to his sides and his eyes opened. They had no white to them, only black. Indalo had lost.

"Hmmm" Slaagra said in Indalo's voice. "You're friend is no more. He couldn't resist the darkness that had tainted him."

"He was strong" Silo said, He couldn't believe what he was hearing. "He's still in there somewhere."

"I can hear him" Slaagra said as he smiled. Indalo's mouth was filled with razor sharp fangs. "I can hear him screaming in misery. Such a lovely sound. Music to my ears."

Slaagra turned to Silo and raised his hand into the air. Suddenly a bolt of lightning struck his hand and the electric spear appeared. Slaagra then spun it over his head and down to his side.

"I would have much preferred to use your body for the resurrection" Slaagra said. "I just couldn't catch you! So I designed this plan in a way to have Indalo as a back-up. Just in case."

Silo just listened in horror and then pulled out the hilt of the Ice Blade. He ignited it and held it out in front of him. "You…you…I will destroy you…"

"Aw, such a brave boy" Slaagra said mockingly. "Those will be the last words you will say."

Silo held the Ice Blade at his side and Slaagra did the same with the Electric Spear. The staring went on for a few moments before both leaped towards each other. The blades clashed.
