The snow may be present, but the ice is the real thing separating us.
As I look into his emerald eyes, I feel nothing but frustration and bitterness. He left me a broken girl, with a broken heart. And as fate would have it, he stands in front of me on this street, with a hopeful smile. A beautiful smile, nonetheless. His eyes glow like a fire, even through the chill in the air.
And as he makes the first step, I make the next five. I stride past him, head held high, even through the crippling pain of this heartache. I struggle to realise and accept the fact that I just ignored the man I once called "my forever."
But even my triumph breaks when his voice rings out.
"So it's true. You no longer hold the feelings for me that I foolishly squandered. Amy, give me a chance…"
I hesitate. "Don't you see? It's always you. It was never me who broke your heart. It was always you, Sonic. And as much as I wish I could give you a chance, even my heart and my head agree for once. I can't love you anymore."
Tears start to rise in his eyes. "I won't get over you Amy! I can't!"
And then I turn around to face him.
"You can learn to, like I did."
