Macca's Bedtime
Summary: A little story about kitten Macavity's bedtime.
Macavity crawled onto his owner's bed and curled up. It was a stormy night, and Macca didn't like them at all. His owner was working night-shift, and that meant he should be home with Tugger, not by himself. His older brother, Munkustrap, had had to stay at the Junkyard with his mate, Demeter. Tugger had gone out hunting with Mungojerrie and Alonzo. But Macca, little, two month old Macca, was on his own at home trying to fall asleep. He couldn't fall asleep because Rumpleteazer (his cousin) would usually come and snuggle up to him and help him fall asleep. He felt all lonely and sad without her. He had tried counting sheep, what his human did, but that had just made him hungry. He then realised that Tugger hadn't left him any cream from the fridge. Macca decided he would try to get some cream himself when Rumple came in.
" 'Ey Macca! What ya doing out of bed?" Rumple asked.
"I try to get cream, but me to short." Macca answered.
" Ain't Tugger meant ta give it to ya?"
" He is, but he forget cause hunting."
"Come on, I'll get it for ya."
They walked to the Kitchen. Rumpleteazer jumped up onto the table then onto the microwave. The cream was in the top level of the fridge, so Rumple jumped from the microwave to the top of the frigde and swung down so she was holding on with one paw.
"Rumple! Pwease don't fall!" Macca cried
"It's alroight Macca. Cats always land on all four paws."
"OK. But still!"
Rumple had open the door by now and had got the cream out. She swung back up to the top of the fridge, bringing the cream with her. Then she jumped down onto the microwave and onto the table. She bought the cream to Macca.
"Thankyou, Rump." Macca said.
"Your welcome." she replied.
Macca lapped up the cream and went to lie down on his owner's bed.
"Rump, come up here?" Macca asked.
"Sure."
"Sing me song?" Macca pleaded.
"OK." Rumple replied.
"Is a Christmas carol alroight as it will be Christmas soon?" Rumple asked.
"Okay Rumps."
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born
Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Rumpleteazer looked at Macavity. He was sleeping peacefully and snoring.
"Well, now that that's done, looks like I'm off to look after Jemima." Rumpleteazer said.
