Riza found herself cramped under a desk with a hand pressed against her mouth. The air was hot and damp against her skin.
She assessed the situation with the cool logic and reason she had acquired over the years. Here's what she knew: 10 minutes ago, she had been filling papers at her own desk, enjoying whatever breeze she could from the open window. 5 minutes ago, she had crossed the room to the desk of her superior officer to deliver some documents and make sure that he was still working. 1 minute ago, she had found herself in Roy Mustang's lap, her arms wrapped around his head, his heat so different from that of the air around them. Then, there had been a knock on the door, causing Mustang to leap out of his seat, which in turn, tossed Hawkeye to the floor. He had followed soon after, and now she found herself in this compromising situation.
She made eye contact with the colonel, and they waited in anticipation.
The door opened. "Colonel Mustang?" She recognized Havoc's voice, and raised her eyebrows at Mustang. He hesitated, then stood up, trying his best not to appear flustered, but it was difficult when his face was so flushed and his hair ruffled.
"Lieutenant Havoc. Yes, hello." Riza had to cover her mouth so as not to giggle at him.
There was a silence from across the room. The colonel tried to cover for himself. "I, um, just dropped my pen."
A pause, then "Right… Well, if you see Lieutenant Hawkeye, could you tell her these files are for her?" She heard the slap of paper on her desk.
"Thank you, Havoc."
"No problem." The door started to close, but then crack open. "Oh, and Colonel? I let the rest of the team know you'll be busy for the next little while."
The door clicked closed, then she heard the quiet sound of the lock twisting into place.
Mustang groaned and dropped to the floor beside her. "That was humiliating."
Riza smiled. "Oh, come on, it's just Havoc. He's probably been expecting this for years now." She shifted toward him. "And besides," she said, pushing him gently to the floor, "now the door's locked. No more interruptions."
He smirked, then flipped their bodies so now she was under him. "I guess having Havoc on our side could have its benefits…"
And with that, they continued right where they had left off.
