A little MLP potterverse AU.
Getting her Hogwarts letter with her yearly textbook list was quite possibly her favourite thing about the entire summer. She spent her summers reading and studying anyway, but the letter she'd receive at the end of July would provide her with an updated list of required texts, and would further ignite her passion for studying.
Being this excited about receiving her Hogwarts letter, she'd very nearly squealed in anticipation when Owlowiscious had flown in that morning with none other than the aforementioned letter in his claws.
The book list. She was ecstatic. She'd been anxious to get started on the new book list since she'd finished studying all the texts listed on last year's.
A wide grin spread across her face, she opened the envelope and fished out the contents.
And she'd have been lying if she'd said that she wasn't hoping for Professor Alcorn to have named her Head Girl this year. She'd been the Ravenclaw prefect in both her fifth and sixth year, so she was the most logical choice to be named as Head Girl as she headed into her final year at Hogwarts.
So when she unfolded her letter and the badge that accompanied her letter read 'quidditch captain' instead, she could only stare in confusion.
Quidditch?
QUIDDITCH?
"No no no no, there has to be some kind of mistake."
She'd never even gone to watch quidditch tryouts before. She even skipped games to go to the library, and if she did end up at the game, she always had her nose in a book. Books were more excited and more useful than a barbaric sport like quidditch.
How in Merlin's name did Professor Alcorn expect her to captain a sport that she'd never even watched before, let alone actually played?
