Author's comments: Not sure why there's so much stuff in parenthesis. Just started writing it that way and thought it would be best to be consistant.
Kairi sat on the beach (all by herself). She held three pressed roses (but they were dying). She couldn't remember the person who had given them to her (his face his name anything about him). He had kissed her when he'd given them to her (hadn't he?). He had promised to come back (once upon a really long time ago). She hadn't seen him since (no one had). She began to cry (silent tears silent pain).
"All you alright?" A boy asked (black hair blue eyes so familiar). She knew she'd seen him before (school maybe?). She nodded (because would you pour your heart out to a stranger?). "You sure?" he asked (no, but she'd never tell him that). She nodded again (even if it was a lie). "Nothing I can do to help?" (no again).
"Can you heal a broken heart?" she asked (can a heart be broken by someone who doesn't exist?).
He sat next to her (so she wouldn't be all by herself). He leaned over and kissed her lips (softly trying not to scare her). It was her first kiss (or maybe second? She wasn't sure). She pulled away (it was being unfaithful to the boy who may or may not exist).
"See you around then?" he stood up (disappointed).
"Yeah, see you," Kairi replied (also disappointed). He began to walk away (because he was embarrassed?). Kairi wrote something down on a piece of paper (her phone number to give to him). She ran after him (screw the boy who may or may not exist). She kissed the boy with black hair again (because she liked him). Her second kiss (or maybe third?). "Call me, kay?" she said (pressing the piece of paper into his hand). The three pressed roses lay abandoned (but they would have died anyway).
A year later Kairi sat on the beach (with Sora this time). She held his hands (but she felt bad about it). He kissed her lips (defiantly her fourth kiss). She hadn't ever really been unfaithful (they hadn't really been together). He'd promised to cone back to her (and he had). She'd never promised she'd wait (and she hadn't). But she still felt bad about that one day a year ago ("Can you heal a broken heart?").
