The market place was buzzing with people. Today was the annual holiday celebrating the day link vanquished the evil king Ganondorf. Malon had to push her way through the press of people whom where busying themselves with hawking their merchandise. Her soft red hair was pulled back from her face in a long braid. Her dress had ripped and she needed to get some material to make a new one. At the moment she wore a plain tunic and male pants that she had found in the attic. Her crystal blue eyes scanned the stores looking for a reasonable price for some good quality clothe. She found a place that suited her well and picked up a bolt of purple cotton clothe. She asked the merchant what the price was and was reaching into her purse when a hand grabbed hers. She jumped at the unexpected assault and turned to see who had grabbed her. her blue eyes met another pair of eyes as blue as her own. A handsome smile spread across his face as Link flipped a coin to the merchant and took Malons hand leading her away from the stand. Her right hand in Links and the bolt under her left arm, Malon could do nothing as Link's strong form surged through the crowed dragging her along. He was wearing his blue tunic and hat instead of his usual green today. His hair brushed and shinning with healthiness. In a matter of moments Link and Malon escaped the crowed and were walking along on Hyrule field. Since her hands were free from the press of bodies, Malon took out her purse and handed Link the amount of money that the bolt cost. He looked at it and and pushed it away with a smile and a sentence, "I don't want the money, consider it a present that represents our friendship." Malon smiled back at him and put the money away. He pointed at her clothes with a small chuckle, "I hardly recognized you in men's clothing. I think that dress's suit you better, though I must admit that I like the way it shows off your figure." Malon blushed furiously with an embarrassed reply, "My dress ripped and I don't trust my father enough to buy my clothe. I may have to wear men's clothing for a while, as long as it will take me to make a new dress. I have to go now. Its getting late and my father has a celebration dinner at home for the holiday. It was nice seeing you again Link. I hope to see you again soon." Link smiled at her and pulled her close. His lips brushed hers in a soft warm kiss. It lasted only a moment but it seemed like a lifetime for Malon. He whispered goodbye in her ear and hugged her to him. He kissed her once more then turned and went back to the market place. Malon stood there for a moment in complete awe. She lifted her hand to her lips and smiled at the memory. She turned and made her way back to the farm, the smile never leaving her lips. Malon woke up from her dream with a dazed feeling. She looked out her window at the rising sun and sighed. In her heart she hoped that the dream she had would one day come true. someday…
