This is a poem dedicated to Duel Academy's former Kaiser, Marufuji Ryo/Zane Truesdale. It talks about how he's changed and how his old friends seem to have given up.

Beautiful eyes have filled with unparalleled hate.
Anger has replaced a quiet gentleness;
The silent comfort is gone.
Brother and friend have fallen
To this dark reincarnation of the one
Who once was the one who steadied them,
Gave them a way to define themselves.
His eyes, once deep and knowing
Are now chips of ice, cold and unyielding,
Wanting only one thing:
Victory at any cost, no matter how savage
Or painful.
Disrespect is no issue, not even an afterthought
Even as his oldest and trusted friend screams in agony.
Even his own brother's screams provoke nothing.
The once-emotionless, yet kind face now
Sports a sadist's smile
The ones who once called him their friend
Have given up; the old him is forgotten.
Few still hope for a return,
And now the debilitating shocks
Of hell's darkest pits have found
Their mark. Perhaps he may
Overcome it, but he is changed.
Perhaps it is over; maybe his destiny is to fall.
But I hope again that destiny can change.
