Tears and Rain
Oneshot songfic.
Disclaimer, disclaimer, disclaimer, blah, blah, blah.
The rain was begining to come down harder now and Zane still sat outside by the lighthouse. He'd been out there all day. It's 10:30 at night and he's still sitting in the same spot.
"How I wish I could surrender my soul;
Shed the clothes that become my skin;
See the liar that burns within my needing.
How I wish I'd chosen darkness from cold.
How I wish I had screamed out loud,
Instead I've found no meaning."
Syrus, dressed in a raincoat, watched his brother from a cliff that was higher up. He didn't know why Zane did this, but everytime it rained he always sat out in the cold. Syrus went down to the lighthouse to see if he could get his brother to come inside. Zane looked like he'd gone swimming, he was soaked. His eyes were unfocused and he looked like he'd been crying. There was so much water Syrus couldn't tell if Zane's face was wet from tears or rain.
"I guess it's time I run far, far away; find comfort in pain,
All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble.
Hides my true shape, like Dorian Gray.
I've heard what they say, but I'm not here for trouble.
It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain."
"Zane?" Syrus gently shook Zane's shoulder. Zane didn't reply.
Syrus felt Zane's face, he was burning up. Zane was sick.
"Zane! Come on, ZANE!" Syrus yelled.
Zane turned his attention slightly towards Syrus.
"Come on, lets go inside,"
Zane merely shook his head. Syrus pushed Zane untill he eventually stood up. Syrus took Zane's hand and started to head back to the school. Half way there Zane collapsed. Syrus began to freak out, Zane had a very high fever. Syrus tried to get Zane to stand again, but he wouldn't budge. Zane was cold and clammy with a high fever, Syrus was worried. He kept pushing Zane until he stood again.
How I wish I could walk through the doors of my mind;
Hold memory close at hand,
Help me understand the years.
How I wish I could choose between Heaven and Hell.
How I wish I would save my soul.
I'm so cold from fear.
Syrus stayed at Zane's side, making sure that he'd be okay, but when they got to the school, Zane collapsed again. Syrus ran and got the nurse. She came out with a stretcher to help bring Zane inside. As Zane slept, Syrus sat looking out the window watching the rain pour down.
I guess it's time I run far, far away; find comfort in pain,
All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble.
Hides my true shape, like Dorian Gray.
I've heard what they say, but I'm not here for trouble.
Far, far away; find comfort in pain.
All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble.
It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain.
