When Generva Weasley was born she was very sickly the healers at Saint Mungo's had to resort to muggle healing ways they put her in an incubator and on oxygen. But the muggle ways didn't work she only stayed alive for four hours. The healer that was assigned to the Weasley's, Adrianna Joharrison was an old family friend of the Weasley's. One thing Adrianna knew about the Weasley's was that they always wanted a baby girl. She felt bad for the Weasley's; Adrianna was also assigned to a family with the name of Snape. The Snape's also had a little girl that same day but Mrs. Snape died in child birth.

Adrianna told Severus (Mr. Snape) that his daughter also died in child birth. So she put a charm on Severus' daughter so she looked like the Weasley's daughter (the Snapes daughter had pale skin and black hair). Adrianna made the charm so that if Ginny or any of the Weasley's ever doubted that Ginny was a Weasley or not, the charm would no longer work and could never be put back on her. Adrianna felt bad for what she did but she didn't want the Weasley's to be hurt, so she hurt Severus instead.

11 years later on Ginny's 11th birthday

"Blow out the candles Ginny! "

"Happy 11th birthday Ginny"

"thanks Ron, ok I'll blow them out (the candles) 1,2,3 "

"how does it feel to be 11 Gin? "

"just great Mum"

"are you excited about going to Hogwarts in three weeks Ginny? "

"of course I am"!

":what house do you want to be sorted into? Even though I know you will be sorted into Griffindor all Weasley's are sorted into Griffindor "

"to tell the truth I don't want to be in Griffindor. I want to be a Slytherin! "

"SLYTHERIN! WHY SLYTHERIN! "

"I want to be in Slytherin because I want to be my own person I don't want to be like the rest of you all. "

"all Weasley's are in Griffindor! "

"Maybe I'm not a Weasley! "

"why do you say that? "

"because I'm nothing like all of you! Know what I bet I was switched at birth that's why I'm so different! "

"you two! Stop it"!

At that moment Ginny's appearance started to change. Her hair color changed from red to jet black, she grew a good 4 inches and her skin looked paler.

"Mum Ginny looks different! "
"yes Ron I see that! Ginny go look in the mirror".

"ok mum"

"Molly I think we should go to Saint Mungo's and get this straightened out. "

Both Arthur and Molly go to the fire and take a pinch of floo powder and molly says to no one in particular "we are going to Saint Mungo's to get this straightened out, please tell Ginny we will be back in a little while to give her some answers. Bye!" after that was said both Molly and Arthur throw the floo powder in to the fire and step in then they yell "SAINT MUNGOS'" they leave everyone to wonder what's going on until they get back home.
