Synopsys: S01E02, at the very end Simon says something that makes Curtis shudder with concern. Here is what went through Curtis's mind during those few seconds.
He had never considered it before, how lucky they were they had each other. Ever since the first day Curtis was feeling out of place. He didn't deserve that. Surely, he had 'screwed up big time' but he didn't belong here. There was no way he was going to get along with those scumbags.
And yet, in under a week so many things had happened that he needed to admit it: they were in it together; all of them, and that had its consequences. Trust had become essential. They had to be sure no one will blow the whistle. The only way to do that was to stick to the plan and 'act normal'. Act normal? Did Kelly really mean that? For them to act normal would have been the most unusual thing to do. Thank God Nathan played that disgusting gay sex act when they were questioned about the disappearance of the probation worker. It was expected from them to be grose, unapologetic and totally incorrigible. It was hard for Curtis to admit it, but he was part of this world now.
And now Simon was saying that all the others who got caught up in the storm were coming after them. The little weirdo had a point. He imagined what it would've been for other people to wake up and discover they had new, confusing and probably terrifying powers. Who would they talk to about it? How would they avoid feeling like freaks? How scared they would be... Simon's comment had made him realise what a luck they had to be in this together. Yes, they had killed someone and buried another body as well. They were all in terrible danger of 'getting gang raped' behind the prison bars. But they still got each other, they were still completely sane. Each of them had all the others to talk to about their powers. They weren't a team, they were no superheroes, but at least they were not left to deal with these changes on their own.
Curtis stared at Simon. The short funny looking boy was right. There were bound to be others and some of them would really want revenge. 'The only thing worse than being lonely is other people knowing you are lonely.' (Where had he heard that? Was it in Spiderman?) He imagined what it might feel like for another human being changed by the storm to find out about them. He or she would be so jealous of their shared secrets, of the fact that they had each other. Desperate people are the most dangerous, he knew that from experience.
Nobody else seemed to be taking Simon's words very seriously. Nathan was already calling bullshit on him. Alisha was looking at Simon as if he was a bit retarded. Kelly simply shrugged it off. Curtis was left with the strange feeling that only very time-sensitive people had. He could almost see Simon's prophecy fulfill itself. That's when Nathan addressed him: 'You know that note you found in your locker?' 'Here we go', Curtis thought and turned around.
