Penelope was in the kitchen, cleaning up the dinner dishes as she watched the snow fall from the window above the sink. She could see Jack out there too; he was smiling, his cheeks rosy red in the cool air as he shouted instructions to his dad.

Aaron was on the roof, putting up the Christmas lights. It was a little late in the year to be doing it but they just hadn't had a chance before then.

Penelope hadn't been pleased when Aaron told her that they were doing them that night, it had snowed an awful lot the last few days and Penelope didn't want Aaron to be on the roof. But Aaron had insisted, it was a tradition for him and Jack to put up the lights together.

She hadn't been able to argue with that since she didn't want to upset Jack, but she still wasn't happy about it.

Penelope heard a thump against the roof.

She stopped and held her breath, but then she heard a shout and watched horrified as Aaron fell off the room into a huge snow bank.

Penelope shrieked and ran for the back door "Oh my god Aaron!" she called as she sloppy shoved on her running shoes and ran to his side.

Jack was already there kneeling down beside his father, Aaron was lying in a large hole in the snow.

Aaron groaned as Penelope kneeled down beside him, the snow soaking her stockings so they chilled her to the bone but she didn't notice.

"Are you hurt? Is anything broken? Do you need to go to the hospital?" Penelope questioned hurriedly.

Aaron shook his head, then looked at the worried faces of his wife and son, and a slow smile broke out on his face "I'm fine," he said with a chuckle.

Penelope's eyes narrowed, she didn't see anything about the situation that was funny. "You think that was funny?" she asked angrily "Because I don't, or was it your intention to give your pregnant wife a heart attack?"

Aaron sobered immediately "No, of course not Sweetheart, I'm sorry, I guess I'm just still a little shocked. I fell off a roof and I'm not hurt in the least."

Penelope pouted "I told you putting the lights up today wasn't a good idea."

"But we did get them up;" Aaron stated pointing at the roof of the house, where the glittering lights sparkled invitingly "I just slipped on the way down."

Aaron sat up in the snow and leaned over to kiss Penelope "I'm sorry I scared you, Penelope…but please let's forget about it for the moment and get you back inside, I don't want you catching a cold."

Penelope nodded and helped him up "I'll admit the lights are very beautiful but let's not make this a new tradition okay?"

Aaron laughed and pulled Penelope to his side, kissing her on the forehead "One fall from the roof is enough for me in this lifetime, thank you."
