Kirby peeked out of the curtains, scanning the area for anyone near his house. Kirby looked around the area for two minutes before closing the curtains, resuming his new routine, which was sitting around on the sofa all day hating himself. He slouched on the cushions, a large rumbling coming from his stomach, "Five more days." Kirby thought to himself.

TWO DAYS EARLIER

MONDAY

Kirby ran away from the town with tears visible in his eyes, the wind was blowing the droplets in the opposite direction he was running. He tripped himself over constantly while running, his tears creating puddles on the ground. The Puffball continued running to his house and then ran inside the house before slamming the door, creating a large bang. He dug his head into the pillow and poured his tears out, soaking the entire pillow.

Hello... a voice behind Kirby spoke. The pink ball looked behind him to see a black ghost, with white oval eyes and stubby arms similar to Kirby's.

"Poyo?" Kirby got in a defensive position, readying his arms and legs in the event that the ghost shows hostility.

Do not be alarmed, I cannot harm you as I'm merely a figment of your imagination. The ghost spoke to Kirby in a soft tone, trying to get on his good side.

Kirby then relaxed his body, relieved that the ghost could not harm him in any way. The ghost flew to Kirby and looked at him.

I can see the pain in your eyes, your heart is full of agony and you blame yourself for all that happened. The ghost told Kirby in a soft voice.

"...Yuh huh..." Kirby said with a sad tone, the sunlight peeking through the window glistening in his tears.

Fortunately, I know ways to ease the pain. The ghost said. Kirby looked at him and listened.

This method is frowned upon by most, but it actually works really well... harming yourself. The ghost told him.

Kirby instantly froze, he was beginning to question whether the ghost was helping him or trying to kill him.

I know what your thinking, I will give you some time to think this through. The ghost said before it vanished into the shadows.

Kirby stood frozen, bewildered at what he just encountered. He went to his bedroom and laid down, getting himself comfortable with the blankets.

Kirby knew that self-harming is possibly the worst way to cope, but the ghost was the only one left who wanted to help him and Kirby couldn't think of any other ways. The puffball eventually dozed off, all the negative thoughts leaving his mind for the time being.

to be continued...
