A/N: Written as a response to BB/Kym's "The WARDen Says It Best" Challenge on BB

oOoOo

Men are so weird.

I finally got the nerve to tell Ranger how I feel and what does he say?

"It's about time."

What?!

So now I am standing in his office standing with my hands on my hips giving him the burg glare. For what reason I have no idea as it apparently doesn't work, Ranger just sat there. I added in a little impatient foot tapping and still nothing. He didn't even bother respond to my statement.

So let me change my earlier statement.

Men are assholes.

It takes me almost three years to tell Joe that I love him. And that was after Joe was already telling me he loved me and a proposal. But then again Ranger is not Joe and that is why I am here with him instead of being the Burg wife Joe wanted me to be.

So instead of leaving and going off and pouting as I would have done, had I been with Joe, I decided stay.

Ranger finally looked up at me from the paper he was reading, he saw me standing there and raised an eyebrow.

"That's it? I tell you that I'm in love with you and you say 'It's about time'?" I tried to keep my voice from wavering because I didn't know if I was going to shout at him or cry.

"Babe."

Ranger stood up and walked around the desk over to me. He put his hands on my shoulders and leaned in close so that his eyes were level with mine. "You know that I love you. I have already told you so."

I stood there speechless. I love you in my own way. That was his version of telling me he loved me? I tried to look away from him so I could get a clear thought. But with his dark eyes staring into mine all I could get was him standing in front of me in those silk boxers of his.

Before I could get my thoughts back around to the topic at hand Ranger's lips were descending on mine. I wrapped my arms around the back of his neck and pulled him closer.

I was imagining where in the office would be the best place to continue this when the there was a knock on the door. However whoever it was didn't wait for a reply and just opened the door.

Lester stepped into the office with a file in hand and grinned at where we were wrapped around each other. "Good. That's good. The two of you are beautiful together. A fucking inspiration." He set the file down on the corner of the desk and quickly left the office.

I groaned and rested my forehead against the hardness of Ranger's chest.

"Shall I show you how much I love you, upstairs?" Ranger asked me.

I raised my head and saw the wolf grin that had spread across Ranger's face. I gave him my own back. "I'll race you up there."
