She turned it in her hands nervously.
That headed piece of paper bearing one single word.
In one second, her life had been devastated, shattered.
She lifted her head and looked at him, by then always present by her side.
How was it possible that an hallucination could be so real to be able to do something like that to her?
Maybe than, he was far more than just an hallucination.
In the only five days in which he didn't, inexplicably, paid her visit, she started to feel a profound weakness seize her body, and every single effort had become nearly unbearable.
With a fake social security card, she went to the nearest outpatients' department and asked for a complete checkup, all this without her brother's knowing.
Make him worry without reason would have been stupid.
He appeared on sixth's day dawn, and now he was seated in front of her with a childish naughty expression on his face.
"Come on Sammy, do not oblige me to read in your gracious little head" he told her with a challenge smile.
She remained silent, staring fixed at that word, ad deadly as the most precise shot.
"Come on" he exhorted her "I'm curious"
Samantha breathed deeply and closed her eyes.
Happy and sad memories alternated in her mind. The first games with Dean, her mother's death, the meeting with Jess, her brother dragged to hell by those horrible invisible hellhounds, Lucifer's eyes in hers at night, the irrational fear to loose all this, forever.
She should have hated him, she should have detested his touch. But she simply couldn't.
It was too late.
And a part of her, buried deep down, in spite of everything, was rejoicing as never before.
He moved from the window where he has been leaned till then and seated next to her, on the old motel's bed edge.
"What's wrong?" he asked again.
He expression, this time, was not teasing.
Samantha opened her eyes again and looked directly in his, so blue and cold to seem unreal.
She passed him the piece of paper with trembling hands.
"I will have a baby. Your baby" she whispered while a tear rolled on her face.
Author's note: this is a little and stupid shot I wanted to write because I'm really pregnant and I wanted to celebrate it in a special way...
