I Wish I were on Titanic
A clear eve on the Atlantic
I see in my mind's eye
I'm a shadow on the Titanic
Twilight still in the sky
Glancing around the opulent deck
That's soon to be a ghostly wreck
I watch gleeful children running
Screeching with uncaring joy
Couples walk, the gentlemen flirting
With their ladies acting coy
Soon the night lights will be lit
It won't be long before they hit
Everything now is quiet and calm
A clock strikes the half hour
I wipe away sweat from my palm
Knowing makes me cower
In ten minutes time three bells will sound
And then the ship will become renowned
Hearing the bells I view with dread
As the iceberg is sighted
Then I hear it 'Iceberg right ahead'
And fear is ignited
They frantically attempt turning to port
But the endeavour was all for naught
The berg scraped along the hull
On the starboard side
Everywhere there is an eerie lull
As ship and berg collide
The fate of the ship of dreams is sealed
By sailing right through a known ice field
Soon the scene transforms
Joy turns to fear
People in panic filled swarms
The end is near
I sit up in my bed with a gasp of anguish
So be careful when you make a wish
