I really don't understand why this is still on my mind. That stupid little peck on the lips. It was just a friendly little kiss between friends, for the sake of the game, you know? I mean, Fred DARED me to. Only wimps turn down dares. And Ginny Weasley ain't no wimp! But, let me tell you, had I known THIS would happen, I never would've…

Let me explain.

Luna came to visit during the summer after our third year. She, Fred, George, and I were just sort of hanging around my room, going "What do you want to do?" "I don't know, what do YOU want to do?", when George suggested a game of Have You Ever.

"That sounds like fun!" said Luna, closing her book. "May I go first?"

George nodded. "Be my guest."

"All right, Fred, have you ever seen a Blibbering Humdinger?"

"Um… seeing as how I don't even know what that is…"

"Oh, my dad reckons he saw one by our house once. You know, they look kind of like blue phoenixes, only smaller, and with less feathers. They cry loudly, too. Sometimes they—"

"O-kay!" Fred interrupted. I glared at him; I didn't believe in or care about Blibbering Humdingers either, but at least I didn't make it obvious. "George… have you ever pulled a prank without me? (Hint: 'No' is the correct answer.)"

"No."

"That was anticlimactic," Luna observed.

George said, "Luna… do you have a crush on Harry?"

"Of course I don't," she said.

I rolled my eyes. "Duh, George."

"Well, THAT wasn't any fun!"

This went on, most of the questions being lighthearted and silly, until Luna turned to me and, in typical Luna fashion, bluntly asked me a personal question.

"Have you ever kissed someone of the same sex?"

I blushed. "N-no. Why?"

She shrugged. "Just curious."

Fred grinned evilly. "I dare Ginny to kiss Luna. On the lips."

"Fred!" George exclaimed. He always was the nicer twin.

"Oh, come on, we wouldn't tell," he said. "It won't mean a thing, we're all friends here!"

Luna shrugged. "I'm okay with it if you are, Ginny."

I gulped. "Okay."

I quickly leaned in and closed my eyes before I could change my mind. Luna closed her eyes just as our lips met. It only lasted for about three seconds, tops, but for that three seconds, I felt… wonderful. My heartbeat sped up, I could feel my hands go clammy, and my lips tingled.

We pulled back, and continued the game.

And now, here I am, in my room, all alone, trying to sort out what was wrong with me.

Luna walks in, and sits down on my bed. "You haven't said much since the game," she says. "I wanted to see if you're all right."

I sigh, lying down on the bed. "I'm fine, Luna," I say, though it's a complete lie, "just… I don't know."

Her brow wrinkles in concern. "Want to tell me about whatever's bothering you?"

"I… I can't."

She pats my foot. "I promise I wouldn't tell anyone else about it if it's personal."

"Luna… I… When we kissed, I strange."

"What kind of strange? The good kind or the bad kind?" she asks.

"The good kind, I think, which is why I'm so worried."

She shrugs. "Don't be. Plenty of girls are attracted to girls… and boys, too, in your case."

Just like her to be so sure.

"I guess I always kind of knew I liked girls," she continued, lying down herself. "I mean, boys never really… appealed to me." She looks at me with her big silver eyes. "I'm okay with it if you are, Ginny."

"Us as a couple?" I ask, surprised, but not revolted. On the contrary, the idea does sound nice.

"Why not?"

"Luna… I… I can't… I want to, but no one would understand. I'm sorry…"

I get up and walk away, trying to ignore the voice inside saying that I just made a huge mistake.
