Author Note: I had this in mind for awhile. I started it and trashed it because I didn't like it but, I love this version. It turned out better than the original I trashed. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy.

Broken
He was broken into a million little pieces each to small to put back toghter. Each little shard cut him, dragged him closer to the point of no return. No one seem to notice that he was broken and still breaking before them and if they did, they didn't care. As long as he was able to do his job and be the perfect lab specimen, they were fine but, he was wrong. One person did see that he was breaking and it was the last person he ever expected to see through his cold mask.
Angeal's puppy, Zack. The boy saw the broken man he was. He saw the sharp shards that were tearing him apart and driving him closer to the brink of madness. He was the only one to reach out, the only one who tried to heal him.
At first, he thought the boy wanted something after all, in the end, they all do and once again, he was proved wrong. The boy wanted nothing in return nothing at all.
Even when the boy was broken and grieving himself, he still smiled. He smiled through is tears and when he asked the boy why, he only offered a watery smile and said, "I'm crying for those who can't."
He was puzzled by the boy's words. It was only latter as he lay in his to large bed in his to large room that, he got what the boy meant. The boy was crying because he, himself could not, would not cry.
Slowly, Angeal's puppy was mending the sharp shards. He could feel himself returning to the man he was but, once again all that changed.
Niblehime. It was a simple mission and he was going on it with Angeal's puppy... no, Zack. After all the boy had done for him, he could call him by name.
In Niblehime, the mended part of him that Zack worked so hard to put back toghter broke and once more, the shards shattered like glass but, this time, they were broke so bad, shattered so far that, not even Zack could put the pieces toghter again.
