Axel was bored

Axel was bored. Wandering the halls of the Castle Oblivion for the 5th time that day, trying to find something to occupy his time while Roxas was away on his latest mission. The renowned pyro was up-to-date with all his paper work for the first time since being recruited by the organisation, had played cards with Luxord, and lost, burnt Marluxia's rose garden for the shits and giggles and hidden Xaldin's spears around the castle. And he was still bored. Things just seemed to stop for the red-head when the petite blond was away.

Eventually Axel decided to return to his dorm within the castle. In truth, Xemnas had ordered him to. The whole castle was annoyed at his ministrations, getting in everyone's way. Upon his return to the room The Flurry of Dancing Flames spotted a handwritten not lying on hid bed.

Meet me in the alley.

Rox

Axel quickly opened a portal and walked through the swirling mass of darkness before him towards his destination.

When he entered the alley he saw the Key of Destiny standing a few feet away from him.

"So what's this in aid of Roxas?"

"I'm leaving the organisation." Stated the blond, as he began to walk away.

"Roxas! You can't turn your back on the organisation, they'll destroy you!"

The retreating form stopped walking away and turned his head, looking over his shoulder at his friend and partner from the corner of his eye.

"No one would miss me" and he continued walking away.

Axel reached out a gloved hand to the blond his mouth open in shock, his eyes wide.

"T...that's not true."

The hand dropped to his side.

"I would."

Roxas faltered for a moment, wanting to run back onto the embrace of the taller male. To tell him we wasn't leaving, hold him tight. A single tear fell from cerulean eyes as he forced his feet to move, take him away from the organisation, from his friends. Away from Axel.

The fire-wielder slumped against the wall, staring after his lovers back. How could he just leave? He didn't even say goodbye. Just walked away. Axels legs gave out from under him and he crumpled to the floor, sobbing, his heart breaking with every exhale.

He was alone. The one thing he hated was being alone. Roxas knew this. And he still left him.

Why did he leave me?
