To Trust Again
Disclaimer I do not own Naruto
I need to apologize. I haven't been on here in forever. And I cleared out a lot of my stories. I'm sorry but it disgusts me how bad some of them were. I will be trying to re-write some of them but it will take a while. This is a peace offering to all of you who have been faithful. Just wanted to say…I'm back!
She had been dropped so often. And it had hurt so terribly, excruciatingly bad each time. Hinata glanced up into azure blue eyes with fear and curiosity.
"Come on, you can trust me." Naruto had been enchanted by her eyes the instant he had met her, but they had never looked quite as scared as they did now.
Hinata was nervous. She looked down at his tan hand that was being offered to her, and then right back up into his eyes. His eyes were breathtaking, as always. The strength and confidence in those eyes always made her shiver, but now she saw a bit of a new glint in them. He almost seemed….nervous.
Naruto didn't mind that he had been standing there for the past minute while she made her choice. He would wait; after all, she had been waiting for a much longer time for him to stop being such an idiot. He could afford to wait for a few minutes. It made him sad that she was so hesitant. The blonde knew that she had been hurt before, and by people that should not have hurt her. Her father, her cousin, her sister, her friends, and she was such a loving girl that she had forgiven them. However, all of that hurt had made her scared to jump into anything new. He hoped that she would trust him, that she could believe in that he would never, ever hurt her.
Hinata felt her blush grow. She really did want to just reach out and take his hand, but she was soooo scared. She wanted to believe that he would not hurt her, but she didn't know. The bluenette had waited so long, and just when she was about to give up because it hurt so much, he had finally found out. After that, he had often tried to talk to her, but she was so embarrassed and had tried her hardest to avoid him. Today, she could do no such thing.
Taking a deep breath, Hinata finally reached out and grabbed Naruto's hand. Her small, smooth pale hand contrasting sharply with his dark, calloused one. A fantastic grin broke Naruto's face as he lifted her out of her seat and led her to the dance floor. The soft sweet sound of a slow song drifted from the speakers.
