Chapter I: Lucrecia

The dark, cold colors of the cave's watery crystals illuminated his face with a hazy, light blue. Looking at his frozen love, he shut his eyes and tilted his head forward with a somber expression.

"Lucrecia . . ."

He muttered. Her name lingered in the air, as it brought back memories of a time he could say he felt happy.

"I'm sorry."

A faint voice cried out from a woman captured in ice, arousing his attention, though she did not move. Had I imagined it? He thought.

"I'm so sorry . . . Vincent"

Her voice echoed again. Vincent then knew we was simply remembering a time when his love had said these things to him. A time of betrayal . . . Vincent stared deeply into her glassy yet still beautiful eyes.

"Why? I'm the one who should apologize . . ."

He said, laying down. Vincent closed his eyes, crossed his arms, and drifted off.

"What has taken you so long?"

A tiger-like creature suggested, as Vincent walked past him. He stopped a moment, having to look over his shoulder.

". . . I had some things I needed to take care of . . ."

Vincent kept walking, as the creature turned and caught up.

"Everyone has been waiting Vincent. You cannot keep being the black sheep-"

Vincent turned around sharply.

"I only joined you because it means I'll get to kill Hojo. I'll do as I please."

He snapped, proceeding forward.

"Vinny! You're back! So c'mon, spill the beans, what big bad monster did you kill?"

A young ninja asked as Vincent and the creature entered Cid's airship. Vincent was hesitant to answer, so he continued on and had a set a few feet away.

"Oh . . ."

She pouted.

"Yuffie, look-"

"No, no, It's fine, whatever . . . we're over here, bustin' our behinds and you were off snoozing in that cave again. I get it."

Yuffie hissed, closing her wide, orchid eyes and turning away from Vincent, who let out a long sigh.

"Have you seen Cloud?"

He put his feet on the table, as Yuffie remained quiet, seeing his disdain for her. The creature sighed as well.

"Cloud is on the deck with Tifa. I'd suggest not bothering-"

"Thanks . . ."

Vincent cut in, immediately walking off leaving the ninja and the tiger to see only the red cloak

"You know, he can be a real jerk sometimes . . ."

"Just give him some time. You would also be upset if you repaid your sins by sleeping for 30 years. "

The creature told Yuffie, though she shuck her head.

"Are you kiddin'!? Think of all the beauty sleep! That explains why a 50 year old man like him has a the face of an angel."

"I though you were mad at him,"

The creature stated, licking himself.

"Mad, but not blind."
