He didn't see it coming but neither did she.
Ingrid had sounded panicky when she'd rung up her best friend Fillmore half an hour ago asking him to come over because she had an announcement.
Fillmore's pov
I knew Ingrid wouldn't be shaken over nothing so when i heard her ring i ran to her house, when i got there i noticed the whole safety patrol was waiting on her.
10 minutes after my arrival Ingrid walked in alone but she wasn't wearing the trademark orange sash.
"Ingrid what's this all about?" she raised a hand to stop me i knew it was better to let her speak so i sat on the arm of her sofa and took a soda from Vallejo who was offering.
"Erm...hey well...i don't really know how to say this guys but I'm ...Erm leaving the safety patrol for good" Ingrid stood waiting for us to say something but O'Farrell beat us too it.
"is this some kind of joke?" i noticed for once he wasn't laughing or cracking jokes, which I'll have to admit it unnerved me a little.
Ingrid shuffled on her feet and pulled out her sash and badge, handing them to Vallejo who took them looking a bit confused.
"But why Ingrid, why now?" Vallejo asked without a flicker of emotion showing on his face from losing one of his two best officers.
"I'll answer that simple question seeing as Ingrid cant" an all too familiar voice said from the shadows, with an air of importunateness.
I noticed Ingrid had a slight blush on her face when the owner of the voice stepped out of the shadows and gave most of us a heart attack.
Malika the former head of the red robins revealed herself and even now she was in uniform, if i didn't know any better i'd say she never took it off.
Ingrid smiled as the 2nd girl put her arm around her shoulders.
"Everyone I'm sure you remember malika" Ingrid said with a hint of uncertainty in her voice.
"Some of us more than most" Vallejo muttered, malika saw him and rolled her eyes.
"Well this is the reason I'm leaving the safety patrol" Ingrid then does two things which i don't think anyone in the room was expecting.
First, she pulled out a red robin sash and put it on.
Second she took the other girl in her arms and quickly but meaningfully kissed malika.
"I'm a lesbian" Ingrid said as if admitting it for the first time.
