Within the past few years, everytime the Potter clan went out and took Teddy Lupin with them, the head of the household, Harry Potter, would call Teddy his son. The first time it happened, he was unaware of it at first. This is the story of how it had happened.
Harry Potter, after the battle where he saved all wizard and non-wizard kind, was invited to many events over the years. This time it was a Quidditch match featuring the Holyhead Harpies, Ginny Potter's old team before the kids were born. The captain, Lana Smith, was the one to invite them. After getting to know Ginny, Lana wanted to meet her family.
After the match, they went to meet Lana by the locker rooms for the team. Ginny introduced Harry and he introduced their family.
"Hello Ms. Smith, nice to meet you," He pointed to each child with them as he introduced them, "This is Teddy, our eldest, then there's James, Albus, and Lily, our youngest."
"It's nice to meet all of you. Come with me, I'll show you around," Lana smiled and started to lead them around the Quidditch field.
It took about ten minutes after the introduction for Harry to realize that he introduced Teddy as his. He started to look for Teddy among them and walked up to him, panicked that Teddy might think he is trying to replace his parents, which Harry never wanted to do. As he reached Teddy though, he could see him beaming.
Teddy looked over at Harry and beamed even more, if that were possible. "Thank you for claiming me as your son, Uncle Harry. Thank you for making me feel like I fit in." Harry smiled back at him, feeling less panicked and walked with an arm around his shoulders.
From that day on, Harry got use to introducing Teddy as his own child, even though he made sure that Teddy knew his parents also loved him. Each time they would go out with Teddy, he would match Harry's hair color and keep the length that his father, Remus, would have and the style he would wear it, to honor both of them.
