*SPOILER WARNING* Poisoning the Well and Sanctuary

A/N: This is my first SGA fan fic…Sorry if it sucks…THIS IS FRIENDSHIP, NOT SLASH! Btw, this is in the first season before John got promoted to lieutenant Colonel

John slowly sat up as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes. Lately, it had been hard for him to sleep for long because, every time he closed his eyes, he saw Chaya. Yawning, he decided to pull on a shirt and walk to the pier so he could have some time to himself to think. He hadn't been at the pier long, when he heard a voice behind him say, "You're up early, major." John turned around at the sound of the voice, recognizing Carson Beckett as the owner. "Carson, what are you doing here?" "Just taking a walk," Beckett replied. "What about you?" "Thinking," John replied as he averted his eyes, his voice distant. "About Chaya?" Beckett gently prompted. John sighed and nodded, gaze still fixed on the ocean. There was a short silence between the two, as Beckett was unsure what to say. After finding his voice, he continued. "I know how you feel lad." John looked at Beckett, then back to the ocean. "Believe it or not, I do. Not a day goes by that I don't think of Perna and miss her. But I go on about my business because I believe that's what she would want me to do," he finished. John looked at Beckett. "You didn't hear her say she regretted being around humans. She may not have said it right out, but I know it was because of me," John said, almost bitter. "Aye, you're right. I didn't hear her say it, but I imagine she said it because she loved you," Beckett replied. John scoffed. "If that's the case, she sure as hell had one screwed up way of telling me so." Carson sighed. "Look, either way, she told you she loved you, am I right? And for all you know, she could be thinking of you at this very moment." John's face lit up at the very prospect. "You think so?" "Aye, I do," Carson said softly, smiling at John. John smiled back as he simply said, "Thank you." "What for?" Carson replied, confused. "For listening," John said as he started to make his way back to his quarters. "No problem," Carson said to himself, heading back to the infirmary. John finally got to sleep that night, knowing he wouldn't have to worry about another sleepless night.

A/N: Sorry if the end is lame…And if I got anything wrong, forgive me…It's been awhile since I've seen the epi Sanctuary! Please let me know if you liked it.
