E/O Drabble Challenge
Challenge word: forever
Length: 100 words
Pre-series. Sam lets Dean read his acceptance letter to Stanford.
"What's this? Dean gripped the letter tightly in his hand.
"An acceptance letter….to Stanford."
"You're….you're going to college?"
"I told you I wasn't going to live this life forever, Dean."
"I know but…..is this really what you want, Sammy?"
Sam nodded, his face pleading for Dean to understand but he couldn't. How could Sam give it all up so easily? How could he leave them…..his family? They needed him….Dean needed him.
How am I supposed to protect you, Sammy?
Dean choked back his feelings and smiled at his little brother. "I'm proud of you, Sammy."
