Disclaimer: I do not own Jonny Quest or related characters.
A/N: This is why I should not brainstorm story ideas while sleep deprived. Expect a lot of stories with Jade, since I'm trying to practice writing her. (She's a hard one for me to write.)
Where the hell was his shirt? Race frowned as he looked around the bedroom - Jade's bedroom. His shirt was nowhere in sight. He'd found his other clothing easy enough, why had his shirt gone missing? Half-dressed he left the room, now convinced Jade had done something with it.
He found Jade sitting in her favorite wicker chair. Apparently she hadn't felt like dressing that morning because she seemed to be wearing nothing but a red shirt that was too big for her. His shirt, of course. He leaned against the door frame with an amused smirk, "Isn't that mine?"
"I think it fits me quite well." She quipped. She hadn't put her make-up on yet, leaving her looking even more beautiful (at least, in his opinion).
Pushing off the door frame, Race walked towards her. She stood and met him halfway, allowing him to wrap an arm around her waist and pull her close. "You know, I'm going to need that back soon." He murmured.
Jade pouted, "You have to leave so soon?"
"Dr. Quest and the boys will get worried if I'm gone for too long." Race answered. "We're supposed to start heading for Palm Key this afternoon." It was clear he wasn't very happy about leaving Hong Kong so soon.
Neither was Jade for that matter. She gave a hum of displeasure, "Can't you find a reason to stay another day?"
"I could find plenty of reasons, just none Dr. Quest would agree with." He leaned down to kiss her, knowing he was going to miss her when he was back on Palm Key while she remained here. He didn't get to spend nearly enough time with her. But, that's how it had to be. With how different their lives were small moments like this would have to be enough.
