Hello everybody! This is chapter one of the final part of my 'Love of the Stars' series. If you haven't read part one, start there. It's an amazing story, I promise. Please review. P.S. I don't' own Star Wars.

The part that Star liked the least about battles was the end. It was during that final stage when she was forced to see which of her brothers wouldn't be joining them in the mess hall that night. As Star walked through the throng of dead bodies, she was grateful her helmet was on, so nobody could see the tears on her face. She tried not to be this emotional- death was a natural part of life, after all- but seeing so much of it at once made her think about how her own life was at risk every day. Even more, it made her think about how Rex was in danger too. If Rex died Star wouldn't know what to do; he was almost like an anchor in the war for her, especially during the casualty count. But right know he was back on Coruscant with General Skywalker. Star could really use him right now.

"Lieutenant Star," a voice called from behind her. She turned around to see a clone trooper get up from the ground, one she was sure was dead just a few minutes ago. As the clone approached he clutched his arm like it was injured. Star met him halfway.

"Trooper, what's going on? I thought you were dead." The clone shifted his weight before responding.

"I almost was. I got hit and decided to pretend to be dead so the droids would walk over me."

"Looks like it worked."

"Yes, it did"

Before Star could tell what was happening, the clone grabbed her sword off her belt and held it at her throat. Star was stunned; what the heck was going on? She ducked below the blade, kicking his legs first and then his head. The trooper's helmet flew off, but instead of a face, she saw commando droid plating. How could she have fallen for that? Another reason not to be emotional on the battlefield. The commando stood up and began swinging Star's sword at her. She jumped and dodged, trying to avoid getting cut by her own blade. But her energy was already running low, and she was slowing down. Apparently the commando droid noticed, and took advantage of the situation. In one quick move he thrust the blade directly into Star's torso.

The pain Star felt then was unlike anything she could have imagined. Her mind became clouded as blood seeped from the wound and on to the blade. Fortunately, the droid made a fatal mistake and leaned in closely. It was close enough for Star to swipe her claws across the commando's neck and send his head flying. Once the commando droid was disabled she sank to the ground, and heard faint voices calling for a medic as she blacked out.
