Not sure where this came from

I'm not like the others trapped here, hell if I wanted to I could leave this fucking hell whole and never look back but then well what would the kids do? Sure they have Tommy but let's face it the kid is seven. Yeah I get it the Marionette has been here the longest but damn it I'm the oldest.

Who am I? Well that's a hard question really. Technically I'm Golden Freddy and my brother is Golden Bonnie but that was a long time ago so we're nothing but shadows now. I don't really do much anymore but watch over the kids before they can move at midnight. Until then they really can't do or say much and even when they go on the prowl they have little to say.

Then again unlike me who died in a bloody mess on stage because some asshole cut corners on my costume, they were murdered by a sick dick. What made it worse was I couldn't do a damn thing to stop it either. Especially what he did to Danny and Sara…Hell I still shutter when I think about it.

I think it's why I normally don't go by her but tonight I noticed she was staring out the window just around nine. She doesn't attach herself to Chica until around eleven so like me she likes to roam about. "Colin?" She asked quietly as she looked down at her little hands, "Are the fireflies awake yet?"

I stopped and looked out the window, I saw a small light flicker by and I nodded, "Yeah guess it's that time of the year."

Truthfully I hadn't thought about those little bugs in a few decades but quickly I saw her eye fill with tears I know I can't just pass by as she started to speak again. "I use to get them in jars and my brother would get them for me cause…I'd kill them…"

Slowly I inched closer to her, "I'm sure it was an accident. They can be hard to get sometimes."

"Yeah…" She wiped her eye as she turned to look up at me. She always reminds me of Rebecca though the woman once known as Mangle has long since crossed over. However she like my old supervisor promised they'd be back for them someday. But I doubt the day would be coming anytime soon. "They were my favorite part of summer." She said pulling me away from my thoughts.

I quickly gave her a smile, "Yeah they were mine too." She gave me a smile that pulled at my heart and it wasn't hard to know what I should do. "You know what I'll be right back." Quickly I disappeared as I headed outside well after I borrowed a jar from the kitchen.

It took me a little time since I hadn't done it in a long time plus being dead didn't help either but soon I had about three in the jar. Really I was pretty damn proud of myself but I tried not to show it as I returned to her spot by the window. But again my smile returned once she gave a small gasp, "Are those!?"

"Yeah sweetie they're for you." I said as I carefully handed her the jar, "Just be careful with them okay?"

She quickly hugged the jar as she nodded, "I will I promise Colin. Thank you." Sara kissed my cheek before running off with her new friends.

"You're welcome baby." I answered before going on my way. Maybe I'll stay for a few more years…and get her a few more jars of fireflies. I might be nothing but a shadow now but that doesn't mean I still can't bring a smile to a little girl every once and a while.
