Hi fanfiction world! As a newbe I apologise if this seems out of character - my first ever story was never going to be a great one ;) criticism is welcome - please review if you like it :)
Have you ever wondered how different your life would be if that one thing had never happened? One tiny decision could change a life. Potentially. I've been thinking a lot lately about the past few years and how things have changed for me.
The decision I made to block people out was one that came easily to me after the divorce left my parents in shattered pieces. "If you never get close to anyone then you can never get hurt." Thinking back to it now though, maybe that attitude wasn't the best one to take. If I hadn't have opened up and auditioned for the Bellas I'd probably still be on my own - content but nowhere near as happy as I am now.
If anyone ever asked me what changed my life the most, the Bellas would be my automatic answer.
But after today my answer has changed. After today my viewpoint has changed. After today I'm on my way to believing that - maybe- love can actually work. That love isn't something that was made up just to sell Valentine's Day cards. After today I realised that the most important moment that changed my life the most was a car. A car containing a boy who I never knew could be so damn important to me.
Looking down at this ring on my finger now I think of all the promises it holds. A whole future that it's going to bring. A big white wedding was never my dream but it's funny how one person can change something as big as that.
For the first time in a long while I feel like I have a family again. Like I'm home. The Bella's are like sisters, best friends and soul mates all rolled into one. And then there's Jesse. The guy standing on the other side of those doors in a tux, probably grinning like there's no tomorrow. Just as the doors are about to open and the wedding march is about to begin, I look back at the girls, take a deep breathe and say:
"Okay weirdos, let's do this"
