There was a rustle in a bush that made Edmund jump out of skin. He unsheathed his sword and whipped around to face the intruder. It was the middle of the night and Peter, Susan, and Lucy were a quarter a mile away asleep with the rest of the army. Edmund felt beads of sweat breaking out from his forehead. "Come out, now you faceless coward," he said quietly to himself.

The rustled came again and this time staggered out the intruder. Edmund was quick not taking in who it was and jumped at the person, knocking them to the floor. his sword pressed against their neck. "Edmund, it's me! Hermione!" Hermione squeaked.

Edmund's eyes widen in horror and sheathed his sword back. "I'm so sorry, Hermione..I thought..I thought —" Edmund was cut off short. "It's alright. I know, you're scared. Harry is far from here. I managed to disappareted here while he and Ron slept. I just came to say good bye." Hermione said quietly.

"Good bye? What do you mean? No one knows about us. We can make this work," Edmund said forcefully, "This war will end soon and we can be together."

"I'm sorry Edmund, but I hate always going into hiding when I'm around you. This war between Cair Parvel and Hogwarts has gone too far. Maybe we need to end this for a bit and focus on the war…it will benefit the both of us," Hermione said quietly as tear welled up in her eyes.

"Who cares about the war? The only thing that matters is you and me. We can leave. The both of us, we can escape and there will be no more war for us," Edmund pleaded.

Hermione stayed silent and then she met Edmund's gaze. Tears fell from her eyes and from her pocket, she took out her wand. "I'm so sorry," she whispered. Edmund's eyes widen even more, "N—". "OBLIVIATE," Hermione said and pointed her wand at Edmund.
