It's a new day! It's good to be up, I think I got up a bit too early though, and I'm still just a little bit sleepy..I think I'll just order a bit of toast and sit off to the side today, I really don't feel like getting involved in the breakfast battle when Miss Lina gets here! I stood at the top of the stairs and stretched and yawned.
That's about the time when I saw Mr. Zelgadis! He was sitting over at the table, he's always up before the rest of us! I think he really likes the quiet before we all get up. He's always sitting there by himself and he looks so sad...kinda makes me sad too...but anyway! I ran down the stairs and pulled a chair up to the table to sit with him.
"Hello, Mr. Zelgadis!", I tried to cheer him up by being happy myself, sometimes that works!
"Good morning, Amelia." He said, not sounding much happier, but looking up, "Gourry is still sleeping as usual. But where is Lina? She usually is up before you and Gourry are, trying to get the best breakfast deal...", he said the last little bit of his sentence into his coffee cup as he took a sip.
"Miss Lina is upstairs in the room, still sleeping, I guess!", I smiled, but I think I stopped smiling when he looked down into the coffee mug again.
"Why don't you order breakfast now, before Lina gets down here...my treat.", he offered. I was really surpized!
"Wow! That's so nice of you! But...I'm not really that hungry..", I told him and laughed slightly.
My mind started to wander off, "You never seem to eat much, you always are drinking coffee instead!", I giggled, pointing out the already known.
"Yes. I always start my day this way..", he spoke, I kinda wish he'd talk more often!
"Oh.. I've never tried coffee before!"
He looked up over the dark blue mug and raised an eyebrow, "I guess they really don't allow princesses to drink such beverages.", he added partially sarcastic, but partially plafully in his own way..
"I can do whatever I want!", I turned my nose up in the air, slightly fusterated.
I put my face back down to look at him again, only to see that blue coffee mug under my nose! My eyes went slightly cross-eyed as I stared at the cup being held out to me.
"Oh? Would you like to try a bit?", he smiled a little and continued to hold his cup out.
I slowly took my hands off my lap and took the cup, then took a small sip.
"... my, it is a bit strong. I see why you drink it in the morning..", I trailed off seeing the look of amusement on his face.
He took the cup back, "I drink my coffee with no milk or sugar. So, yes, it is quite strong.", he finished the little bit left.
Snapping his fingers, he summoned one of the waiters to the side of table and placed another order, "Same as last time, but also a double milk, double sugar too, please."
He folded his arms and set them on the table, as the waiter set two new mugs down. I guess I looked kinda confused, "Try that.", he told me, indicating the cup sitting closer to me.
"Oh! Ok..", I picked up the cup and tried a bit of the coffee he ordered, "... this isn't as bad, I can drink it this way!", I smiled and sipped a bit more.
"That's good.", I think he tried to hide a bit of his smile with his own mug.

Even though Mr. Zelgadis is out travelling around somewhere, I know that I can sit in the palace and look into that mug, and know he's looking over his somewhere too.. ^_^
