"Forgive me Leah. I didn't mean to. It was out of my control." Whatever he spoke didn't matter. All the welled up guilt was pooling in at the surface of his mind. The anger and the sadness when he looked back at what he lost seemed too much of a burden to bear. But she did sense it as she was trapped in her own vortex of emotions. Hers were more complicated than his. His were simple, hers were complex. His were distinctive, hers were messed up. He had lost his emotionless calm mask, she never wore it.

"Forgiven." It was a short reply and should have sated his guilt but it made him plunge deeper into an endless ocean of it.

He was seeing from her eyes and reading her mind and trying to make sense of her messy emotions but she did not dare look into his. Too afraid what she'd find. Too afraid to find something that may make her anger fade because without it, she would have no emotion.

He saw something and phased back into his human body. Out of breath, heart beating fast. Her grief had overwhelmed him.

Some steps later, she phased too, pulling on a sundress in which she looked like a greek godess, in his words before everything got messed up. "How can you forgive me so easily? After what I did-" His voice broke at the end. She could not bear look at him. He looked so remarkably like her fianceè right now.

"Because there is no use of not forgiving. What happened was just fate." He cannot bear looking at her. She was so different than his fianceè. He knew he changed her. And not for good. His fianceè would have killed him by now for ever thinking that she'd forgive him.

Then, lost in memories, they kissed. And what a kiss it was. So much wrapped in passion that the soirits would seem dispassionate now. "So, this is goodbye?" Her voice trembled as she said,"G-g-goodbye."And hearing it, he broke into deep sobs which indicated pure sorrow and seeing the strong creature whose heart once belonged to her and who shall always hold her heart in such a vulnerable condition, she too broke down and wrapped her arm around him. The cried together and then as the cries subsided, laughed at the memories together and fell asleep in each other's arm.

Next morning, the forest floor directly in front of him had a pattern made of wood using tree branches. It said- GOODBYE.
