"I Have to Tell You Something"

A/N: I do NOT own any of these characters…cause if I did I would not be having to write a fan fic now would I?

Botan sighed as she sat down after a long day of having to keep Yusuke in line. They were once again on a mission. But, instead of it being by Koenma, it was by Yusuke's own desire. To see demon world once more during the tournament, leaning back she looked up and nearly fell backwards in to Kurama.

"K…Kurama!" She said in surprise. Kurama only smiled at the other. In this tournament he had decided to go against what he said at the last one and would be in his 'true' form for the whole time.

He had been slightly taller than her when he had been in his human form, but in his demon form he was closer to a half a foot taller or more. It made her slight frame look even more fragile to him.

Leaning against the wall next to where she was sitting he looked at her. They were all sharing one room, and at first he was against it, but after awhile he noticed something funny about her. Even though she also had a human form she could take, it hid the slight ethereal glow that covered her body like a fine sparkling mist. He had spent one night just looking at the beauty of her that was hidden during the day.

"Hey Botan…where is everyone else?" It came out how he normally spoke but he also had another thing going through his head, and he could only figure it was the other side of him. The demonic side.

"Oh! I thought you would have been with them Kurama." She turned to look at him fully, making her sit in the chair sideways.

"They are at a party because they all made it to the second round." Her answer was truthful and exactly to the point. Yet, he heard the slight hint of sadness in her voice as well.

"What's wrong Botan?"

"Well…it's my fault really. I said someone should stay behind just in case…and I was elected without my consent." Her smile came back as she looked at him.

"Though, now I don't think it has been a bad thing. You're here now after all." Kurama felt his heart speed up. He was surprised to find that she enjoyed his company that much.

Pushing off of the wall he walked to the chair across from her and sat down. His tail next to him, and before he could stop her, she stood up and placed each hand next to each of his furry ears. Those delicate hands did not touch them as she looked down into his golden eyes.

"Kurama…I wanted to do this for awhile…can I?" He didn't know how to respond so he moved one of his hands up to cover one of her smaller ones and moved her hand so that it touched his ear. It felt odd and he fought the urge to lay it back.

Her beautiful exotically colored eyes lit up before she slid her hands down to slide in his hair.

"I think it is unfair." He blinked in surprise as he slowly moved his hand down.

"What is unfair?"

"How silky your hair is." He let out a chuckle as he moved his own hands to her hair and took it out of its customary pony-tail and then sliding his hands through her baby blue, soft hair.

"Well, if mine is silky than yours is softer than down." The blush that slid across her face was worth it as he pulled her into his arms. Before he lost his nerves, he whispered into her ear,

"I've always loved you Botan. I've wanted to tell you that…for a long time." What surprised him next was when she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"And I have something I need to tell you Kurama. I love you." And she kissed his surprised lips to seal the sacred words she had spoken.
