The cave was unusually quiet.

"Where is everyone?" Zemirah asked.

"Artemis is with her mom, Wally went to visit his parents, Connor and M'gann are in Smallville, the twins are visiting their aunt, the Anarchys are out ghost-hunting, Raquel's still on that trip, and Zatanna took Raven out to do… something."

"Where's Kaldur?"

"Atlantis. He said he'd be back by today, but clocks don't work the same way underwater."

Zemirah gave a half-hearted chuckle at the joke and turned to Nightwing, or rather; Dick Grayson as he was not in his suit.

"And where are you off to Didi?"

"Got a thing in Gotham. I'm heading out now."

"Now?"

"Yep."

Zemirah sighed and moved towards the Med-Bay. Before she did, she felt a sudden tap on her shoulder and whirled around. Dick held his arms out in invitation and she gladly took it. She let his sympathy and understanding to sooth her frayed nerves and troubled mind. She pulled away and gave a weak smile.

"I needed that."

"You sure you don't want me to stay?"

"And have Bats ground you for another month? You get into enough trouble without my help, you go. I'll be fine by myself."

"If you insist."

Soon he was gone and she was left to her own devices. She went off to the Med-Bay and began her work, looking over medical records, preparing medicines, cleaning medical apparatuses. She was there for a while before she heard footsteps, and she realized she'd tuned out life forces and turned to find Kladur in the doorway.

"How long have you been here?" he asked.

Zemirah didn't say anything and rushed up to him, wrapping her arms around his torso and grasping the familiar blue jacket, sobbing. He gently embraced her smaller frame and a hand to the back of her head.

"It is alright, love," he murmured. "I am here."

She wept and wept until her throat was dry and her head ached. Her whole body trembled and she gripped him tighter, holding on as if for dear life. When finally the tears were quelled, Kaldur pulled a little away to wipe them from her face.

"Do you want to…?"

She nodded and without another word they left the mountain.

The two made their way through the throngs of locals and tourists alike towards a far less frequented area. Under the gate, through the winding places, between the surrounding greenery, and ignoring the sandy ground beneath their feet. Finally they arrived where they were headed. Kaldur gave Zemirah's had a reassuring squeeze before moving a hand around her waist to gently guide her forward. She took another step before taking a deep breath. She read the writing on the dark marble slab.

Tatiana Grace, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend: You are gone but not forgotten.

"Hi, Mama."
