Prologue
He had just turned the corner when he heard sirens screaming. Looking back at the school he knew something was terribly wrong. A shot of adrenaline made him race as he turned and ran toward the school. Back to a place he thought he had finally said good-bye to. He was twenty feet away and had to start pushing people aside. He halted. Surprise was plain across his face as he stared at the image that had immobilized him. Blood was everywhere. It was spurting from her chest onto the floor. Terror and grief gripped his heart as he saw her once bright blue eyes. He started to shake. Flashes of black and red passed behind his eyes as he felt the ground rush up to meet his face. He stopped moving (but only for a moment). Everything stopped moving.
Chapter One
Tyler woke up to a bright light shining in his eye. Whaaa? Wtf? What's going on?
"Sweetie! Tyler! Are you awake? Tyler! Answer me Tyler!" my mom started shaking me.
"Ugh. what mom? Jeez stop shaking me already." my mom finally let go after i told her to stop 3 more times. I looked around. The hospital. I could that's where we were because it was very bright, loud, and smelled antiseptic. Another thing that got gave it right away was the thin scratchy gown that I've always seen on medical shows.
"Tyler I'm going to go home. I hate to leave you but I've got to check on the twins. I don't know if the babysitter i got was actually up for the job," my mother said looking worried, "If you ever get hungry, here's the menu. Order anything you like."
Of course she would say that. Tyler thought. She's always has left me alone. I can't believe she won't even wait five minutes to tell me what happened.
