Til the Last Shot's Fired
I don't own Naruto, nor the song. Masashi Kishimoto owns the wonderful manga while the song is owned by Tracy Adkins.
His sight was focused on the television, seeing what he didn't believe. Even if he never been in New York, he didn't expect to see what was replaying on the television. The two towers that used to stand but were now burning. Shaking his head, his gaze falling to the book that was focusing on the War of Vietnam, he saw it blur.
Where was the peace that he longed to see? He longed for peace because of the war that he witnessed when he was just a child. Shaking his head more, Itachi's eyes closed to keep the tears out of his eyes.
Taking a shuttering breath, he shut the book and the television off. Turning on the radio that was on the internet, he closed his eyes, hoping that it would keep his mind off.
"Sweet mother Mary we're so tired . . . but we can't home . . . til the last shot's fired."
That song stood out from the rest that he heard Tracy Adkins sing. It spoke of the pain that was going out. It was only a week after the nine eleven attacks on the United States and they were already putting out music for the devastating incident. It made him wish for the last shot fired and war was something that disappeared from peoples' minds. He wanted peace before he died.
I'm not sure if you would count this as a drabble or not. The inspiration I got for it was listening to the song and I could almost picture the scenes while the song was going. Please review.
