IT'S A GUY THING

Vincent Valentine was… disconcerted. He was not entirely sure how he felt about his current situation, but he was sure it was something along the lines of unhappy. He was sure, though, that if anyone else was presented with the situation that he or she too would not have been 'unhappy' as he was. But with how his face was feeling… odd, and with the wide-eyed disbelieving look Cloud Strife was currently presenting him, Vincent had the feeling it was not simply just 'unhappy'.

"You look pissed," Cloud commented, blue eyes still incredibly wide. "I didn't know that was even possible with you."

Right away, Vincent recalled an evening with Cid Highwind, when the man had hit his thumb with a hammer. It was the man's fault entirely, puffing like crazy at his cigarette and complaining out loud to Vincent how unfair it was that he had to do all the simple repairs, simply because he was the mechanic. A mechanic, as Cid would say loudly and with wild hand gestures. Not a carpenter or plumber.

That was when Cid had then slammed down the hammer onto his own thumb. He had cursed, jumped around, and had called the hammer unsightly names, insulting its origins. Yuffie had been hanging around at the time and had started to laugh at the old man, telling him that was what he would get. Karma or such.

Cid's eyebrows started to twitch, like they could not decide to stay up or down. And various muscles within his face had been twitching too, as if the man was possessed. When he had began to yell some more and started to chase Yuffie with the hammer, the ninja had yelled back at the man as she ran that he had no reason to be angry at her just because he had hit his own thumb.

The nail that Cid had intended to hit, sat innocently in the wall for all to see.

Vincent had simply thought them all insane as usual.

"Um, Vincent? It was just an accident," mumbled Cloud, face flushing as he continued to watch the older man.

So, was he pissed? Vincent put some thought into it. Eyebrows twitching. Facial muscles twitching. Oh yeah, he was pissed.

"An accident, Cloud? How is… this just an accident," Vincent asked, red eyes a little brighter then usual.

"She didn't know any better!"

"But it was out of her reach."

"I… might have accidentally knocked it over while passing by."

"Did you."

It wasn't a question.

Cloud gulped.

Vincent turned his gaze to the new hole that was now in their living room wall. His eyebrows twitched again at the sight, not at all pleased with the 2 feet diameter of the hole. Red eyes moved down to the floor, watching a cute, adorable little 4 month old lab puppy that sat staring up at him, tongue hanging out and warm brown eyes glowing. Cerberus, his faithful gun, sat smoking right next to her.

…he began to regret his decision of gifting Cloud with the puppy for his birthday.

"She won't do it again," Cloud tried to plead, visions of puppy entrails in his mind.

The eyebrows twitched again. "Would she?"

"Not at all," the blond stated, shaking his head. "She'll be good, I promise."

Sighing, Vincent picked up his gun, inspecting the weapon for dents. With ease he unloaded it, then placed both gun and ammo into the drawer of the desk that sat in the livening room. He studiously ignored the whimpering of the puppy at the lose of her new toy.

Scooping the puppy into his arms, Vincent sat on the couch, petting the little ball of fur. He moved himself over a little to the side when Cloud sat next to him, the blond resting his head on his shoulder. The two stared down at the ball of little trouble in Vincent's arms.

"Shouldn't of let Yuffie name her Yu-Yu after herself," sighed Cloud, shaking his head. "That was asking for trouble right off the bat."

"No, perhaps we should have not," agreed Vincent. He sat in silence for awhile. "We will need to call Cid to fix the hole."

"He won't like that."

"At this point, I do not find myself caring."
