A/N: I know I should be updating on Lost Connections but I got this idea and I couldn't let it go. You know how it is! Please tell me if I should continue! Review!
Summary: The Cullens are visiting Memphis, Tn. A shooting happens and a girl is caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Can the Cullens save her or will she be lost?
Aza's POV
I was reflecting on my day again walking home from school when my life changed forever.
It had been a normal day. I got sent to the principal for daydreaming straight through a test. I was pranked in the restroom and I tripped down the stairs.
Normal.
I missed my bus so I had to walk the three miles to my home. Mom would be mad but she knows it's not the first time. Although she may not be in a good mood after the school called her with the daydreaming incident. Oops. Oh well.
We live in an income housing neighborhood on the outskirts of Memphis, Tn. So it did not surprise me when I looked up and saw a car speeding down the street towards me.
Some jerk gone to do some damage.
It did surprise me however when I saw the car slow to a halt and man stepped out. He was short and balding and not at all intimidating. What was was the gun that he pointed straight at me.
Uh oh.
"Kaitlyn! Get in the car!"
Now I was confused. "My names not Kaitlyn. It's Aza!" "Don't you dare lie to me, you damn whore! I know who you are!"
Obviously not!
I was scared whitless and turned to try and run. Out of the corner of my eye I saw three figures standing at the end of the street.
I didn't have time to get a better look when a loud sound came from behind me followed by two more. Almost simultaneously a sharp pain cut into my back and I screamed as I fell forward onto the ground.
I heard tires and saw someone was standing over me. I could just make out the feeling of some one picking me up and a keening sound as my vision blanked out.
