-Annabeth-
We were walking on the beach, fingers intertwined, chatting aimlessly. I love that about Percy, that I can talk to him so easily. Sometimes we don't even have to talk to each other, or laugh, or anything- we can just enjoy being together.
Even though I thought I had run out of good questions for a seaweed brain that day, one more popped into my head. "Percy?"
"And that's my fish sticks conspiracy theory," He looked proud. Wow. "Did you say something?"
"Um, yeah. Percy, what kind of future do you see for us? I know that's a stereotypical girlfriend question, but I really do need to know if you thing our relationship is working, or if you thing it'll only last another month, or year, or- I'm rambling. Sorry."
"Well," He pulled a little black box out of his pocket. "Maybe you could tell me," He pried the box open and inside...was a sparkling diamond ring. He knelt to the ground.
"Oh, uhm, I, ah," I stuttered. What the Hades got into me?
"Wait, wait, wait," Percy mumbled. "I'm s'posed to say something. Hm... Annabeth, you are the smartest girl I know. And you're really nice, and, um, we've been through a lot together. Yeah, and we've... bonded? Ah, forget it. Will you marry me?"
"Get up, Seaweed Brain."
He was crestfallen, and his face looked like a tomato. Reluctantly, he stood. Gullible idiot.
I looped my arms around his neck and kissed him tenderly. He broke away after a few seconds, an insanely huge gin on his face.
"What do you think?" I asked innocently.
"I think I'll take that as a yes."
