You Cannot Change My Soul to Black

(OK, this website does not lend itself well to poetic form. I added linebreaks to divide stanzas. Sure, the rhymes may have been a little forced, and I was not paying much attention to rhythm, but that's not entirely standard in villanelles. Spoilers for the end of chapter 1!)
You cannot change my soul to black.
I hid it in a secret cage.
My heart is mine; can't take it back.
Susie urges to attack
When Lancer tries to prod our rage.
They cannot change my soul to black.
I will not be a maniac.
My enemies will be assuaged.
My heart is mine; can't take it back.
Ralsei helps me stay on track.
The king will learn to disengage.
He will not change my soul to black.
Yet in the night, when I came back,
I felt like I was put on stage.
My heart's . . . NOT mine . . . ?
This nightmare led to heart attack!
I locked it in a rusty cage,
For I have changed my soul to black.
Do you DARE to take it back?
