Chapter 1: End of the Beginning
[+] The first thing I remember from that day is feeling a prick on my arm and my father waking me and my sister up while it was still dark and whisking us off our backs and cradling us in the crooks of his arms, as he scurried down the pristine white halls of our home, into the kitchens and, pinching his nose he flung himself down the garbage chute, slime caking his labcoat… the rest is a blur of alleyways and sewers as my father evaded detection from metal men and cars with flashing lights. I'm surprised neither me or my sister cried while this was going on, the entire time everything was hazy and disjointed like a dream. We finally made it to the docks at sea where a man in a fancy coat and hat stepped out, it tok me a while to realize he had a beard of feathers "so you finally made it. were beginning to think you'ad been imprisoned. 'urry aboard 'for the realize you're not headed for an airship!"
we boarded a dinghy and the man started the motor, and pushed us off from the docks. "I cant understand why you'd want to go there o' all places…." He growled over the motor "an you better come good on our deal elsewise I'll be inclined to toss you back and use your kids as collateral to get away."
my father finally spoke in his silken voice, "trust me, once you have me past Atlas's borders and on the way to Vale, your daughter will walk again. You have my word" this seemed to put the feathered man at ease as he pulled up alongside what looked to be a rusty boat, a few men and a girl in a wheelchair met us on the aft deck, the men saluted and the girl gave her report.
"the ship is still water tight and the engines are spun up for lift off!"
the man beamed at the girl then turned to the men.
"RAISE THE SHIP AND CAST OFF!" he bellowed, I remember the sinking feeling in my gut as the ship started rising from the water, a large air frigate of atlas design, just floating away…
and that's about when I passed out…
[*] I can kind of cover what happened after Azure fell asleep… our father put us in a dilapidated cabin, then went off somewhere, around that time the sedatives our father had injected us with to keep us quiet had worn off… I got up and started towards the door, trying to make sense of where I was, at that moment the door was opened by the girl in the wheelchair.
"oh, hello, you're awake!" she chirped
"what's going on and who are you? Where's my dad!?"
"calm down love. You're safe on this pirate ship and…."
[~] VIOLET! That is not what I said or what I sound like, what's with the atlas elite accent?
[*] hey, its difficult to remember what exactly you said, and your accent is downright impossible to imitate… anyways… at that time you couldn't walk so you asked me to push your wheelchair
[~] and you being a prissy little…. Princess…. Told me 'I don't help people who can help themselves'
[*] HEY, I wasn't the nicest of people back then
[-] can we get back to the story?
[+] sorry Noir, and Rowena but we have company…
